What is WOW?
Founded in 2008, the WOW Academy & Early Intervention Center became 501(c)3 non profit entity registered with the IRS. We are now able to accept tax deductible donations, and plan to officially open for the 2013-14 academic year. We would like to acknowledge the outstanding support and legal expertise provided by Pro Bono Partnership of Atlanta, without whom this woud not have been possible. Thank you!
We regret having to push back our academy opening date but we have high expectations for WOW Acacdemy and until we have the entire first year's operating budget raised, we will not open our doors. We want to deliver to families what we say we will at the low tuition cost we are striving for.
In the meantime, we will be hosting the ever popular "Hands On" KB Seminars again this year. You can also find a webinar version of the seminar on the Ga Parent To Parent Website.
We also partner with several support groups to find volunteers for their events.

A Note from Our Director
In 2001, frustrated by the lack of services and therapists available in Forsyth County for my son born prematurely with many health concerns, along with hard to find daycare for a special needs child, I was forced to drive to Challenged Child & Friends in Gainesville. It was during the daily 1hr each way commute that I began to dream of a school and early intervention center to meet those needs closer to home. Now several years later, I am ready to pursue the dream God has placed on my heart for so many years. The dream has evolved into our mission statement.
It is our hope that the WOW Academy & Early Intervention Center will grow and accomodate children dealing with all issues as well as their normal or typical siblings and/or friends. We will open academy doors only when we have secured two years of our operating budget. This will assure that we are able to deliver the atmosphere we envision and tuition at a rock bottom price
The WOW Academy & Early Intervention Center is an officially a registered, 501(c)3, Not-For-Profit agency and will accomodate children ages 6 weeks to adulthood. [*We will begin with grades K-5th, with the EIC and upper ages will be phased in at a later date]. It is our vision to have an onsite nurse, onsite therapists (occupational, physical, speech, behavoiral, and more), daycare and enrichment programs for ages 4 and under, academic and social skills curriculum for pre-K and beyond, parents' night out RESPITES, and most of all, inclusion of children with special needs and their community peers. (Challenged Child & Friends serves as a starting model for our center http://www.challengedchild.org).
If the WOW Academy & Early Intervention Center sounds like it might be right for your child(ren) or you are interested in assisting with this endeavor either through fundraising, volunteering or future employment, please contact us by clicking here.
Sincerely,
Lisa Marie Tatum
